Syrup Pump Unblocking Guide
Content
I. Identifying the Blockage
Outlet Nozzle Blockage: Slow syrup flow but normal pump head pressure (like squeezing out a nearly empty tube of toothpaste)
Valve Seizure: Difficult to press the pump head/no rebound (similar to a broken ballpoint pen spring)
Pipe Crystallization: Syrup with particles or no flow at all (like sucking up icy shards with a straw)
II. Five-Minute Quick Fix
Hot Compress Dissolving:
Remove the nozzle and soak in 60℃ hot water (slightly warm to the touch but not scalding).
Blow hot air from a hairdryer onto the pump body for 3 minutes → Test pressure after the crystals soften.
Vibration Loosening:
Wrap the pump body in a thick cloth → Gently tap on a table (like tapping an upside-down ketchup bottle).
Use an electric toothbrush against the interface → High-frequency vibration to break up the syrup chunks.
Backflushing Cleaning:
Disconnect the feed tube → Draw warm water with a syringe and inject it back into the outlet.Use a syringe (purchased from a pharmacy) to forcefully squeeze and flush the tube.
III. Stubborn Blockage Resolution
Removing the Nozzle and Soaking in Vinegar: 1 part white vinegar + 2 parts water, soak for 30 minutes → Use toothpicks to clean crevices (avoid metal needles to prevent scratches)
Clean sugar residue from valves
Remove spring → Scrub valve ball with a toothbrush dipped in baking soda paste
Treat hose crystallization
Coil into a coil and freeze → Remove and straighten → Sugar chunks will crack and fall off
IV. Tips to prevent re-clogging
Three things to do at the end of each day:
Pump the pump head empty to drain residual syrup
Wipe the outlet clean with a damp cloth
Hang the pump head down
Essential steps when changing sugar:
Warm water → Syrup transition (dispense half a cup of warm water first, then connect the hose)
Money-saving gadgets:
Outlet sleeve; Coffee filter paper → Intercepts impurities (change daily)
